Exporting data and documents

What you can export and understanding files, formats, and limits

Updated this week

๐Ÿ•ฐ๏ธ Est. Time: 5 mins

๐ŸŽฏ Goal: Understand how to export data and documents across the platform

๐Ÿ”‘ Requirements: Permissions to view and edit jobs, and export finances

Exporting gives you the flexibility to use, analyse and share your work, internally and externally. You can export data like job performance, team capacity and contact details, as well as documents such as invoices, timelines and internal reports.

โฌ‡๏ธ Finding your exported files

By default, exports are saved to your browserโ€™s standard downloads folder. This location can vary depending on your browser or device settings.

If you're not sure where files are being saved, check your browser's download preferences (usually found under Settings or Preferences > General).

๐Ÿ“ฆ Exporting in bulk

You can easily export multiple documents (marked with * in the tables above) in one go using batch actions. Read our article on Batch Actions.

Tracking progress

When you trigger multiple exports, the activity drawer helps you track their progress. Access it by clicking the lightning bolt icon in your menu โ€” export progress appears at the bottom of that tab.

Export statuses

Once the export is complete, youโ€™ll see one of the following messages:

  • Got it - export completely successfully

  • Error - something went wrong

โš ๏ธ Tip: If an export fails, try refreshing the view or reducing the size of your selection. Still not working? Reach out to help@streamtime.net with a screenshot and details of what you were trying to export.

๐Ÿšง Export limits

The only fixed limit currently is for Job Cost Reports, which can be downloaded in batches of up to 10 at a time since these are sent via email. This limit helps maintain system performance and reliability.

If you encounter an error message related to export limits, itโ€™s likely caused by another issue. Please contact help@streamtime.net for assistance.
