  2. To create a single job for multiple months, make each month an item.

🌟 Making Your Retainer Job Stand Out

Once you've created your retainer job, it's important to make it easily identifiable. Here are a few ways to do that:

  1. Label it with the word 'Retainer'

  2. Add 'Retainer' to the job title

  3. Create a 'Retainer' item to keep notes and requirements from the client in one place (best left in pause)

πŸ‘£ Tracking Progress Against Your Retainer

As you work on your retainer job, you'll want to keep an eye on how you're tracking against the retainer amount. The Burnup Tab you with all the information you need:

  • 'Used / Planned' indicates how much of the planned retainer work you have completed and how much is left

  • 'Total / Budget' shows the total amount of time and expenses tracked against the retainer so far

  • You can also see other useful figures, such as budget variance, from the Jobs list by selecting your favourite filters and columns.

πŸ’³ Invoicing

If you're working on a single retainer job over a few months, you'll probably send invoices on a monthly basis. To create a new invoice for the unbilled time and expenses, simply click on 'Used / Planned' on the job card, untick the 'Billed' box, and create an invoice for the total amount at the bottom of the list.

If you create a new retainer job each month, invoicing is just as simple. Simply create a new invoice using logged time and expenses, grouped by time and expenses.

And there you have it! Retainer jobs made easy with Streamtime. πŸŽ‰
