We strongly encourage everyone to ensure they are correctly logging time to the relevant item and job. However, we all have "those" days and hunt for Doc's DeLorean so we can travel through time and fix our mistakes.

The good news is, there is a quick way to easily move logged time to a
(1) new item within the existing job

(2) to a different job

Moving a single time entry

Head to Menu > Jobs > Time and then use the search or filters in the right sidebar to find the time entry in question.

You can change how you are grouping the results by clicking on 'group by' at the top of your results list i.e. by team member.

Expand the necessary group to see the logged time entries within it. For example, the team member who has logged the time.

Hover over the time entry you want to change and click on the pencil on the far right to edit. This will pop up with the details of the ToDo.

(1) Move the time to a different item within the same job

Click on the dropdown to the right of the item and select the new item destination from the list. The new item will already need to be created within the job for this to work.

You can also make any other necessary edits to the time entry here too.

When you're done, hit save.

(2) Move the time to a completely different job

Click on the 'x' button to the right of the job name and then search for the correct job, or create a new one.

You can also make any other necessary edits to the time entry here too.

When you're done, hit save.

Moving multiple time entries

While you can move multiple time entries using the above method, it's much quicker to do this is from the job itself.

View logged time within a job

From the top of the job, open the used/planned time entries.

Choose how you want to group the time entries (possibly by item name, in this instance) and expand the groups as needed.

Click on the time entry you want to change to open it.

(1) Move the time to a different item within the same job

Click on the dropdown to the right of the item and select the new item destination from the list. The new item will already need to be created within the job for this to work.

You can also make any other necessary edits to the time entry here too.

When you're done, hit save. You'll then be able to move onto the next time entry within that job.

(2) Move the time to a completely different job

Click on the 'x' button to the right of the job name and then search for the correct job, or create a new one.

You can also make any other necessary edits to the time entry here too.

When you're done, hit save. You'll then be able to move onto the next time entry within that job.

💡 Tip: If you have already invoices by time & expenses and selected the time entry you are trying to change, that time entry will be locked and uneditable.
