๐Ÿ’ก What are extra hours?


When you see time against "extra hours", it simply means that time was logged without being assigned to an item. You may also spot it under "no item" in list views.

Items are the deliverables within a job, so assigning hours to the right item keeps project tracking accurate. Learn more about items here.

It only takes a few clicks to move these hours and get a clearer picture of your projectโ€™s progress.

Simply put, assigning an item to your tracked time helps keep your reporting accurate and shows the real progress of your project.

๐Ÿ”Ž Finding extra hours


You can easily spot extra hours from the Time list.

  1. Go to Menu โ†’ Jobs โ†’ Time

  2. Change the grouping to Group by Item Name

  3. Add a filter for Item Name "is not set"

  4. (Optional) Add a filter for the team member or job

โœ… How to reassign extra hours


The quickest way to move extra hours is from the Time list:

  1. Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on the far right of the time entry

  2. Assign an item

  3. Hit Save

Once youโ€™ve reassigned hours, your reports and job progress will reflect the real effort your team has put in.

Need to move time to another job?

Click the X next to the job name and select the correct job from the list.

Moving time in bulk?

You can select multiple entries from the list view, then use the โ‹ฎ three-dot menu to reassign them to a different person or job. Learn more about batch actions here.

Working inside a job?

Click on either of the Time progress bars to open the Time list view, then click into individual entries to edit.

Most projects evolve, and sometimes extra hours reflect scope changes. Decide whether to:

  • Track them as overtime, or

  • Adjust your job scope to keep things transparent for your client
