Customising quotes and invoices in Streamtime is just as easy as creating them.
✍️ Generic customisation
Once you've created a new quote or invoice, you'll notice that it will consist of the relevant Items and Expenses from the job, along with their accompanying descriptions, quantities, and total sell costs.
Just about every field within the quote / invoice preview screen is able to be edited by simply clicking into it. This means that you can delete or add any information necessary for your client directly onto the quote / invoice.
Clicking and dragging on the grab-bar on an item allows you to change where it sits on the quote, giving you full control over the sequencing of items.
If for some reason you don't wish to quote or invoice a client for a cost that has been pulled through from the job, this item can easily be deleted by hovering just to the right of the item's price and clicking the trash can when it appears.
Use the tick-boxes in the Options panel on the right-hand side to toggle different elements of your quote / invoice on and off.
Change the styling and placement of your company logo from the Settings panel.
Your Master Terms & Conditions (and Payment Terms on invoices) can be setup and edited from the Settings Panel.
📥 Templates
If you're not using Custom Templates as your solution, you're welcome to use a selection of provided templates to help design your commercial documents in line with your brand. The provided templates are not only free, but also editable to suit your business requirements.
Use a Big and Bold template if you're looking for a more distinctive way to showcase the project deliverables. It's neat but has a modern touch, and allows for you to select your logo placement from 4 different locations.
A Clean and Simple template is aesthetic and professional. Due to its minimalist style, it looks good regardless of the project type.
With the Clean and Simple (Tracking) template you're able to include the previously invoiced percentages per line item as well as the fee summary information. Unit rates and quantities are not shown on this template. This template is particularly useful for architectural practices.
The To The Point template uses type hierarchy to differentiate between different levels of information. Useful if you're wanting to call out phase totals more prominently than included item information.
💡Percentage Invoicing Pro Tips: If you use percentage invoicing by overall instalment (eg 30% of the total fee, then 50% etc) then the previously invoiced amount will appear at the bottom as a total figure. If at any time you start invoicing by line item percentage, then the template will show the previously invoiced information against the line item. It will divide any instalment and add into the line item figures but this may cause rounding issues. This is only for display on the invoice, so won’t affect the invoice total itself or any integrations.
If you want to include items on the invoice that do not have a value in the current invoice, perhaps to show their previously invoiced values or future invoice values with the Clean and Simple (Tracking) template, make sure the 'Include $0 items on this invoice' is checked.
Once you've finished customising your quote or invoice and it's good to go, it's time to send it off to your client.
