🔑 Requirements: Ability to edit jobs
💡 What are extra hours tracked?
When you see Extra Hours Tracked, it means hours were logged without being assigned to an item.
Items are the deliverables within a job, so assigning hours to the right item keeps project tracking accurate. Learn more about items here.
It only takes a few clicks to move these hours and get a clearer picture of your project’s progress.
💡 Why fix extra hours?
Extra hours may occur when:
A team member tracked time to a job but forgot to choose an item
It’s unclear which item the work belongs to
A client requested last-minute work that isn’t set up yet
Updating extra hours keeps your reporting accurate and shows the real progress of your project.
🔎 Finding extra hours
You can easily spot extra hours from the Time list.
Go to Menu → Jobs → Time
Change the grouping to Group by Item Name
(Optional) Add a filter for the team member or job
It's easy to save this view for easy access next time, too. Learn more about saving views here.
✅ How to reassign extra hours
The quickest way to move extra hours is from the Time list:
Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on the far right of the time entry
Assign an item
Hit Save
Once you’ve reassigned hours, your reports and job progress will reflect the real effort your team has put in.
Other scenarios:
Need to move time to another job? Click the X next to the job name and select the correct job from the list.

🛠️ Handling scope changes or overtime
Most projects evolve, and sometimes extra hours reflect scope changes. Decide whether to:
Track them as overtime, or
Adjust your job scope to keep things transparent for your client
